The fan is whisper quiet on setting 1, low noise on 2 and not bad on 3and 4. The air flow is reversible; and the lid closes automatically when the sensor detects water. You can also open the cover in increments. The dimensions match the old existing fan so installation should be easy. Installed the unit in our Air Stream. Required some trimming on the roof but the vent fit nicely. Nice low profile top with reversible flow very quiet fan. Definitely a great improvement over the OEM unit. Two things that need attention are: 1 The fan does not turn off automatically when the lid closes, and 2 the rremote control buttons are difficult to see in low light conditions.

This item was perfect. Fit great, quiet, powerful, easy to install. Will update how it works after we use it next week, but so far so good. Also very impressed with the product support, not that I really needed any. The trim I had with the original fan was deeper (like 5 inches) then the fan came with. But after reaching they shipped me a new trim piece. So kudos to them for responding. All in all great everything. Highly recommend

Nice unit and easy to install. Very quiet the remote is great. I installed it in my E350 Econoline and it took only about two hours. It has 5 speed settings and it is excellent to vent my van. There are several options to use like just open the lid as much as you want without the fan. The remote makes it very easy and convenient to use. Overall a good product for a good price

I decided in a fan with a rain sensor because it increased the book value significantly more than just a vent fan. I have had low current fans in three motorhomes before and especially liked the “attic fan” effect when I opened windows. This fan replaced a noisy vent fan in a small travel trailer. It is very quiet on the two lower settings. Noisier on the two higher settings, but lower settings move a lot of air. The only hitch was the inside shroud wasn’t deep enough. I suspected that but didn’t want to disrupt the original assembly until the new install. There was a notice on owners manual saying a deeper shroud available (5.5”), so I found an email on the shipping box, and sent a message. They replied a day later and we are arranging shipment for the no cost replacement! I especially like the remote control. There are controls on the fan, too, but the remote suits my lazy lifestyle. If I can revisit this review, I will include a picture of the finished product. UPDATE: I received the longer inside shroud yesterday. I was surprised that it came in 4 interlocking pieces, but that worked out, because the fit was imprecise enough that there was some give that made the fit right. Also, the shroud was about half an inch too tall, so I trimmed each piece with a Dremel and a cutoff disk. There are lines on the outside that act as a guide, so trimming was easy. I am including a couple pictures to show the fit.

Just read the product synopsis generated by AI. Man, this unit is so sweet! Nice build, easy peasy install, super, super quiet, air in and out options...price fantastic....couldn't be happier. There was one comment from a purchaser who said that his RV roof was kind of thick so he had to buy the additional shroud that lengthens the distance from the top of the unit to the interior of the RV but if you have a normal sized RV, it wouldn't be a problem. Again 5 stars from an old Maxx Air owner.

The fan came well packaged and was easy to install. It works great, as expected, and the remote has good range as well. I am encouraged by a sticker on the inside trim ("garnish") piece that states the seller has a taller trim piece available for the asking. The taller trim piece will finish this new installation perfectly and I have requested that now. UPDATE: The larger trim piece was sent in a fairly timely manner after more correspondence than should have been necessary. It should have taken just one interaction but the seller was not reading my messages thoroughly enough to see that I had all the info they wanted in every message I sent! While I stick by my review that I like this product overall, I did not appreciate that this seller BLACKMAILED me into writing a positive review in order to get them to ship the larger trim piece. It's NO WAY to run a business and they should just ship the part as advertised in their original package and get an honest review based on honest and quick service! Also, beware that this item appears to be a discontinued item that was originally offered in 2012 (hence the product title), and the seller did not seem to be particularly familiar with it, although they eventually figured it out. I recommend looking at newer and better choices with more features for about the same cost!

**Great Fan - Easy Installation!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently installed the 2012 Air Max 14" Vent RV Roof Vent Reversible Exhaust Fan and I'm very pleased with it! The installation process was straightforward and much easier than I anticipated. The fan operates extremely quietly as advertised - the ultra-low sound feature really delivers. The remote control is convenient, and having the rain sensor gives great peace of mind that the vent will automatically close when needed. One important note for other RVers: depending on your roof thickness, you may need to order the 5.5 inch interior trim piece separately. My roof required this larger trim, but it was easy to obtain and install. Overall, this is an excellent ventilation fan that provides great airflow, quiet operation, and convenient features. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their RV ventilation system!

Very nice, quiet, well made This is a direct replacement for any standard 14”x14” vent, found on most RVs. This looks to be well made, and the fan is very quiet yet moves a lot of air. The vent and fan can be operated via the buttons on the face plate, or with the included remote. There’s also a rain sensing plate. I wet my finger and touched it, and the vent closed automatically.
